additionally, West Chester University (D2, PSAC) will be online only the rest of the school year and has cancelled ALL intercollegiate athletics for 2020-21. I have a bad feeling this will become a trend at the levels below Division I.

When there's no TV contracts to pay the way and higher costs due to safety measures, you're right. Maybe these students can create their own opportunities with a club team.

West Chester walked back the spring sports cancellation (still not doing hoops or other winter stuff), but another Philly area school, Division III Swarthmore, is calling off the rest of the year. Only juniors and seniors will be on campus next semester.

Swat was ranked #1 in the country in D3 men's basketball when the NCAA tourney was cancelled in progress back in March and had reached the Round of 16.

George Washington has already announced it will be online in the spring. Hard to imagine any sports with the possible exception of basketball getting in the mix.
