RE: Darious Williams continues unlikely breakout career
One of my favorite moments in the Marty Smith story on The Return was his interview with Darious. Darious said that when the program shut down, he had offers from other schools, like South Alabama and Southern Miss, but that he just went home to Jacksonville to go to work delivering flowers at an Ace Hardware. If he couldn't play at UAB, he didn't want to play anywhere.

Had we not started the program back, that's probably what he would be doing right now, working at a hardware store. Instead, he is an "unlikely" starter in the NFL.

Wasn't he the one that was selling flowers during the shut down?

His counterpart in the LAR secondary signed a $100 million deal?

His success is going to add visibility to our junior and senior DB’s. Maybe a return to the DB University of the early years of the program

Yes, and I suspect Darious is going to get paid soon.

Man we had some talent on that 2014 team: JJ, Jordan, Darious, Gerald Everett, and Victor Salako just to name the ones still in the NFL.

If it wasn't for the shutdown 03-pissed 03-banghead

I wonder what bowl we would have been in (maybe camilla bowl)

It's the next season that really could have been special. That team may have been Clark's most talented at UAB with another class added to what we already had returning.

Dang, forgot Ty. McGee was and is an awful coach, but he recruited some good players to UAB while he was here.
