Rice has delayed practice
We are supposed to play them on Oct 10th

Quote: The Owls were scheduled to start their season on Oct. 3 in West Virginia against Marshall University. Whether or not that happens, is now up to C-USA. According to Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Chuck Pool, there is no definitive answer on when the season will start.

“Conference USA will take a look at the situation, and it will be up to them whether or not the impacted game(s) are rescheduled or canceled,” Pool said.

A source tells
@YahooSports
to expect Rice to postpone its games against Marshall (10/3) and UAB (10/10). According to the schedule Rice set forth, they wouldn’t be able to get 25 practices in 29 days by the UAB game.

At this point it should be a forfeit IMO. Not sure how the game gets made up.

RE: Rice has delayed practice
Well, we have an open date on Nov 7. Maybe Rice can fill that void, if they also have it open . I didnt check their schedule before posting this.

Open Dates:
Rice Oct 17
UAB Nov 7
Marshall Nov 7

Both UAB and Marshall are scheduled to play Rice. If Rice decides not to play this season UAB and Marshall could play (probably at Marshall) on Oct 3(if switch UTSA to Oct 10), Oct 10(if Marshall switches WKU to Oct 3), or Nov 7 open date(would mean Marshall and UAB both play 7 straight games to end the season - not favorable).

Agreed. The season has started, if they can’t play they should forfeit...

I'd go to a game at Marshall!

UTSA plays at BYU on Oct 10
WKU plays at MTSU on Oct 3
So only option may Nov 7 at Marshall or no replacement game with UAB playing only 6 CUSA games

UTSA is scheduled to play Rice on November 7th. If Rice cancels their season, we could play UTSA on our open date to even out the CUSA games in the West.
