Hope USM Sues Auburn...if
...if we dont get paid for them cancelling the game. Its one thing if they just cancelled all of their out of conference games, but to add more conference games, while cancelling the USM game? **** that. If they can play an SEC team, they can play any team they are contracted to play. USM better get PAID for that cancellation!

I believe I read that there may be a pandemic clause in the contract.

No way. We have had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with both Auburn and Alabama for many, many years. They are aware of our pitiful situation and had helped come to our rescue with super hefty guarantees. Filing suit would erase us from their future scheduling forever, especially since this was not of their doing.

In Auburn's contracts w/ OOC schools they have a clause that states the contract is void if a governmental authority, including that of the Southeastern Conference cancels OOC. Auburn is powerless. The SEC told all schools they can't play OOC games this year...so therefor that clause kicks in and Auburn does not have to honor the contract. Trying to take this to court would be a waste of time and money and we'd just burn bridges.

Sadly enough, USM's OOC games w/ the SEC is one of the sole sources of $$$ that keeps USM's athletic department afloat.
