McClung in Lubbock
Fansided did a breakdown of Mac McClung's strengths and weaknesses. Here is one line out of his offensive weaknesses:

"I am confident that McClung will realize that he is too good of a player to consistently try to make plays that simply aren’t available."

Sure he will realize it. Playing for Chris Beard, he will realize it . . . or else. I never noticed that CB has been too impressed by sizzle. He is interested in the steak.

RE: McClung in Lubbock
This is from an earlier post about the McClung move:

Something also to watch will be how McClung improves defensively. At best, he was below-average overall with the Hoyas. And excuse can be made that he needed to focus more on scoring to keep the team in the game but the effort just wasn’t up to par. That’s not going to work with Texas Tech, who has been one of the best defensive units in all of college basketball. And while the Red Raider’s point guards haven’t been the best passers, they have been elite on defense. McClung will have to improve on that end or risk Coach Beard playing him not as much.

I can't imagine anyone playing for Beard if they don't play defense. Besides, behind the head dunks don't count any more than layups.

I Love to watch McClung. I think He will be a stud at Texas Tech. Besides the Trojans, the Red Raiders are my other D1 team. Beard keeps reloading and showing why he is an elite coach.

I think Mac is an elite talent, but he needs a firm hand, and that is what Beard will provide.

As the years go by you are going to have a slew of teams to follow that will have coaches that Chris mentored!

For sure, you can add Abilene Christian University to that list as well as several high schools in Texas like Garland and Duncanville.
