Sad Alabama A&M Game is cancelled
SWAC football postponed to spring
https://www.espn.com/college-football/st...ssion=true

No Magic City Classic 03-no

I wonder if NM State is still available.

RE: No Alabama A&M game?
MEAC is losing 3 teams in 2021.

NC A&T is heading to Big South. Bethune Cookman to SWAC. Think FAMU is too.

Groundless speculation. Too much of that going on these days.

They are. The MEAC is relative to them, because each conference champ meets in a bowl game which is I think labeled by some as the HBCU national championship. I’ve watched the game over the last few years, but I’m not entirely sure on that.

Only a matter of time for SWAC to cancel.

Aside from both being HBCU conferences the MEAC and the SWAC are moving in opposite directions. The MEAC may not even have enough teams to be a conference in 2021 as they have lost 4-5 teams to other conferences, including FAMU and Bethune-Cookman to the SWAC. The SWAC has a much better TV package, makes much more money, has much better matchups, etc. The MEAC canceled the season to save face and re-evaluate/regroup as much as because of COVID-19. A SWAC decision to cancel the season would be a much bigger deal...

RE: No Alabama A&M game?
Do they start playing again on November 4th?

Can always add it to the postseason between the championship and bowl game

I'm shocked, shocked to find that groundless speculation is going on in here!

The SWAC Championship game was played a time or two in B'ham, but Houston,TX made an offer for more money and a better TV package so it was moved there. For several years the AL State vs AL A&M game in B'ham's Legion Field decided which team would play in that game but not lately.

It was supposed to be in Birmingham in 2018 but the city asked they move it when it looked as if UAB would host the CUSA Championship at Legion Field. Then we lost to MTSU and the city got egg on its face.

It's not really wild speculation when covid-19 is running rampant through a large part of the country and conferences are starting to cancel fall sports or limit OOC games...

The SWAC Championship's site has changed to whichever team has a higher ranking instead of a neutral site like Legion Field.
