Interesting change. Definitely more inclusive and it's great for the membership, but I wonder how they're affording this?

will those that paid for a lifetime membership get a refund?

Wonder how that affects non-graduates that attended UAB and are members of NAS currently?

Does this explain the increase in spam I've been getting from UAB and the NAS to buy insurance or re-buy my graduation pictures?

I guess this is a good gesture but what exactly does it get me? I had been a member of the NAS for many years post-graduation but never got anything out of it except the car sticker. they had started putting so many restrictions on the parking permit, and then I started working at UAB and I lost that completely (and then moved out of state). I want to give to UAB but the NAS specifically has never really seemed like it serves a purpose to me as an alum. I'd rather just give directly to programs I want to support

i joined the nas in 1992 or 1993 and received not one piece of mail or any other contact during the membership. i did not renew.

I can tell you attending sporting events, the NAS has been awesome with free food and tailgates and such

The tailgates at the Tennessee game and the N.O. Bowl were nice events.

NAS has always done great tailgating events. Their problem has been an inability to connect with and listen to NAS members when it comes to non tailgating issues
