Do we UC fans have a complex, or are Cincy sports really cursed?

Other teams have these issues, our Bearcats and local pro teams just have a smaller room of error. If the Buckeyes, Wildcats or Notre Dame have adversity their fan base throws in more money and they come back stronger than ever. Meanwhile it takes us 10 years or more to build back up and be back to where we were before.

Tell that to Michigan, who hasn't had a single-digit ranking in the final poll since 2007.

Harbaugh was signed to the richest deal ever. 7 years, $52 million before incentives, with the $5 million base salary guaranteed even if he's fired. Even 5 years later, he's still the 3rd highest paid NCAA coach.

He's 0-5 against OSU and only come close to making the playoffs once.

I see what you are saying, but a lot of schools in the P5 would love to have Michigan’s problems. They still have been generating money hand over fist and have been as successful in hoops as they have been since had 1980s/early 1990s.

Michigan is an interesting case: top rated public university, big tradition and history in football, winning seasons and high profile basketball too. But Wolverine football fans must be frustrated with their school's ROI when it comes to the football program. They really haven't been competitive with the bunch up I-71 which would also suggest Michigan can no longer be referenced with more successful programs outside the B10 such as 'Bama, LSU and Clemson.

Exactly.

Cincinnati's idea of "building up to where they were before" is consistent 9-10-win seasons and an occasional NY6 bowl game.

But that would be considered an utter failure to a fanbase that has 11 national titles.

It goes the other way, too. Miami fans have been thrilled with Chuck Martin. But if a UC coach went 0-6 against Miami and was 19-19 over the last three years, we'd be calling for his head.

Aye but Michigan spends in the top 10, mostly in the top 5 for all CFB programs. We're in the mid-50s, mid-60s.

To field top 25 caliber teams for most of the past 15 years is wildly impressive given what we spend. I'd hope when it all hits the fan some conference will understand the potential that could come with a true P5 budget.

Pretty certain that we will not have football this year which is going to be absolutely devastating to most CFB programs, including Cincinnati's. How our federal government and several states (mostly in the South) have handled this crisis is absolutely abysmal and now we are reaping what they have sown. Death rates are rising again after a steady decline just as anticipated after the spike in COVID cases from states opening too early. Can't wait to see what flawed logic the righties on this board come up with to defend our country's horrible response and lack of leadership. America makes the same mistakes over and over again, we always prioritize short term quarterly profits over long term growth. How many people and small businesses need to die before we understand that? "bUt LoOk At tHE sTOcK MarKEt?" Give me a break...our country doesn't deserve college football this year, most of this board doesn't deserve college football this year.

The US comprises 4.4% of the total world population.

The US also comprises 24.3% of all Covid-deaths.

TDS is convincing yourself that the richest country in the world has somehow done an admirable job.

37 years old. I'm sure you won't believe it. Here's his obituary: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/r...=196449503

His facebook is out there as well. And let me tell you there's a special place in hell for the people going there to talk **** about this guy and saying he deserves it. I hope they get theirs. That aside, it's incredibly sad. He was a vet. Shouldn't have ended this way.

Do you know what his underlying morbidity factors were?

I religiously wear a mask. Was going to a bank board meeting the other day and went in with my mask. I prior times entering a bank with a mask set off alarms. Now if you enter sans mask they set off alarms.

It's a crazy world, right? As to this guy, I'm sure it played a huge factor. Very overweight, likely had several comorbidities.

Funny, how is it that New York, one of the epicenters of the BLM protests, has gotten COVID under control whereas Texas, which opened too fast, is seeing major spikes?

Maybe a couple of thousand protesters don't have as much of an impact as millions of people operating as if COVID isn't a thing? But okay, keep clamoring herp derp TDS...maybe a canceled football season will finally get it through your thick skulls, which is sad because you'd think record unemployment and 120,000+ death count would be enough.

The guy's dead. That's fact. I'm not advancing an agenda here. I only post this as a reminder that covid doesn't give a damn if you refuse to acknowledge it or not. For most people, even if you get it, you'll probably be fine. But most people isn't all people. I'm glad no one in your kid's basketball league has contracted covid. I hope no one does. I wish nothing but good health and safety on you, your family friends and neighbors. But take reasonable precautions.

COVID is not political, it's f*cking science. Most on this board don't seem to understand that. Cause meet effect.
