Good for those student athletes. I hope they end up at better places then where they came from.

Land was a four star with offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, VT... A little hard to understand a guy like that choosing Liberty in the first place, it's not like they've only just now made their beliefs known and not like he had super limited options pushing him to bite the bullet and go to Liberty despite those beliefs. Of course you never know what all might've gone in to a kid's decision. On the bright side, he should have plenty of great options entering the transfer portal... Probably no trouble getting a waiver either.

I think he originally committed to MD, but that fell through for some reason, so Liberty was more of a last minute thing.

Playing time, something he wasn't going to get as a freshmen at places like MD or Auburn, LSU. Getting a couple years of on field experience and maturity is now a game changer for some of these kids looking at transferring up and a shot at playing pro.

Liberty has built a powerful recruiting strategy, it includes coordination across the highest levels of leadership; in ways Jon Boy Alger could not contribute.

A little ironic to me for two reasons.
1) Hugh Freeze's last job was Ole Miss before the scandal.
2) He specifically called it "Ole Miss University" instead of University of Mississippi despite his reasons for leaving Liberty. Someone may have to explain to him who Colonel Reb is.

Liberty has really stepped up their recruiting game in the past couple years, and while ours has improved as well, it’s sad to see their incoming classes surpass us. I don’t know how much it has to do with “coordination across the highest levels of leadership,” as that is a super vague generalization, but I definitely think their vastly improved facilities, move to FBS, and hiring of a big name coach (although disgraced) are the reasons for that. I think we might be close to our ceiling for fcs recruiting.
