UNC-G and NC A&T to modify school calendar
NC A&T and UNC-G (both located in Greensboro) have decided to eliminate fall break this year and end their fall semester before Thanksgiving in an attempt to reduce secondary spread.

RE: UNC-G and NC A&T to modify school calendar
I wonder if this scheduling will turn into more of a permanent change even when we get past this pandemic. Logistically, I remember it being such a rush to get home for Thanksgiving and then having to rush back to school for an intense last two weeks leading up to finals and then heading back home again. This was despite the fact that I only lived a couple of hours away from home by car. It was monumentally tougher for any of my classmates that had to get on a plane to get to and from home. Starting a week or two earlier in August and being able to get the whole semester done by Thanksgiving would seem to work well regardless of pandemic concerns. Anyone in the North would rather spend a couple of more weeks on campus when it's nice in the summer compared to the start of winter in December, too.
