As a P5-dependent indy, it would be best to shut down football for 2020 and pump those allocated funds into other programs to keep them afloat.

I wonder how Saben is taking this? He likes scheduling a couple of cupcakes like us every season. I’m sure he’ll schedule 2 of the weaker teams from the East to substitute.

No, it wouldn't.

If NMSU is the one to break contracts with other schools, it will cost $300-500,000 dollars per game ($2.7-4.5 million dollars). It is best to wait and see what conferences decide to do. Pandemic or not, NMSU is not in a position to call uncle first.

I dont see long trips to UMASS and Hawaii happening. Even UAB and Fresno are questionable. If that happens the Akron and LA Lafayette travel games would make zero sense. With nmsu's geographic location, they're just arent many regional options outside of UTEP, TXST, and of course NM. Tarleton and Dixie both need games. Does nothing for bowl eligibility, but at least we would have some in-conference smack talk entertainnent!

Real talk through, would the Aggies consider scheduling home games vs Tarleton / Dixie to flesh out their schedule?

I think it would be a smart idea to do so. That way the fans are at least introduced to the teams before basketball season.

“We’ve already had three games canceled and I think we’ll probably have at least 2-3 more canceled from what I’m hearing,” said Tarleton State athletic director Lonn Reisman.

Looks like Bobby Petrino & Co. will still be visiting Stephenville this Fall. For now.

UTRGV limiting attendance in the Fieldhouse to zero for the first two games, and then 255 for the indefinite future after that.

So you are anticipating sellouts? Isn’t 255 the total capacity for your gym? 05-stirthepot

A total capacity of 50 (28 players, 8 officials, 12 coaches and other hangers-on, 1 announcer, and 1 camera operator to record the glory for posterity) would have been sufficient for us to defeat you in the Fieldhouse this season. But then you got scared and insisted on playing both UTRGV games at some obscure home venue called the Panamanian Center or something like that.

Seriously though, is NMSU going to play on the 25th or not? Any idea when the OOC schedule will post?
