Article with Remarks on former NIU coach Carol Owens
Apparently the Notre Dame coach retired. This article talks about how Notre Dame had an entire coaching staff full of potential candidates who could have taken over, including Carol Owens.
The article seems to be far too gracious regarding Owens. My opinion, without Stephanie Raymond, her career at NIU was rather average to below average. Also, I don't remember hearing a clear answer to what happened, did Carol Owens quit on NIU because she wasn't good enough to develop a solid NIU program or was she forced to resign?

RE: Article with Remarks on former NIU coach Carol Owens
"Gracious" or not, what's the point of digging out the negative? So Carol Owens didn't get the HC job at ND. I think whatever someone might think she didn't do at Northern can be let go. Sounds like she's had a good share of success, just not at Northern (as a coach).
At NIU, Owens' record was 66-81 over 5 seasons from 2005-06 to 2009-10. After Jane Albright, the other coaches were Liz Galloway-McQuitter (37-75) and Carol Hammerle (80-120) before Owens, and Kathi Bennett (57-93) after.
Current Coach Lisa Carlsen's record is 60-63.
Must be something in the water. We can blame that.
