RE: What They Are Saying About Andy Kennedy
I hadn’t thought about it before, but I hope AKs connections from his TV gig payoff in terms of exposure, and maybe even scheduling

Well, this coming year's schedule should show us right away of the benefits of his connections.

I think the hire along w/ some $$$ much like what happened w/ the fb shutdown/return, is showing commitment to bb, so hopefully it does turn out to mean a better OOC schedule w/ better quality teams being more amenable to h&h games w/ us. Hopefully AK is the bb version of Clark for us.

RE: What They Are Saying About Andy Kennedy
I posted an article in another thread that mentioned that G5 schools would lose close to $1 million as a result of the spring sport shutdown, no NCAA tournament, etc.
Add to it the added expense of close to $1 million a year for 6 years for a coaching change. (which may be covered by our boosters, I'm not sure)
These reasons in itself are why we need people showing up for games and buying tickets. 4000+ for the crappy ones, 6000+ for the good ones.

I talked to the ticket office yesterday and they said these past 3 days have been the busiest for basketball ticket sales than at any time in the last 4 years.

But there was also an earlier article on al.com quoting Mark Ingram stating the spring sports shutdown is actually saving the athletic dept. over $400,000. (Loss of $40,000 in revenue vs. $450,000 savings on the travel budget).

Well, it is a known fact that everything outside of football and men's basketball loses money so yep that would seem correct.
