MyBB The NBA should adjust its season to stay out of the way the NFL/College Football
The NFL is going to a 14 team Playoff and the NCAA will probably expand to 8 teams in a few years. The NBA should start its season after December 1st each year.

Each NBA team would play 3 games a week until the March 1st. Then the two games the week before March Madness. That would make 41 games per each team. The NBA All Star game would be played the next week. Each team would play two games in the third week in March. Then each NBA team would play 3 games a week until the June 15th with a total of 82 games for each team.

Then the first round of the playoffs would be the best 3 out of 5 games.

The second round of the playoffs would be the best 4 out of 7 games.

The semifinal round of the playoffs would be the best 4 out of 7 games.

The Championship round of the playoffs would be the best 4 out of 7 games.

The season should be over by July 25th right before the NFL season begins.

It was discussed before.

The problem I see is the playoffs and the more important later games are in the summer/warmer weather days where people are more likely to do outdoor activities and not want to be inside watching basketball games. I don't think the beginning of the season games are really important whether they are in October during the beginning of football season or December during the end of football season.

I think this absolutely will be a by product of what's happened... Season might even start later, and end right around 1st Sunday in August(NFL HOF weekend).

Great minds think alike. However, I think going into August is not a good idea because the MLB playoff chase is in full swing. Plus the NFL and NCAA Football is ratcheting up. End the season by the mid July and then have the draft 7 to 8 weeks later.

I can see that. It would fill in the blah spot from mid July.
