Disappearing player
Jordan Agustus, a consistent double digit performer when she does play. Briefly "unable to participate in team activities" back in the fall, then started playing again in January and February, now completely missing from the roster and the game notes.

Maybe family or personal issues? Combination of both?

Can't say. She was only going to play for 2019-2020 anyway so at this point it's moot.
Fortunately we've got two really good guards (Trelynn Tyler X2 WAC Player of the Week, and Zhane Templeton) who should be even better as seniors, a good backup PG who one assumes will start in 2020-21 (Tapia) and a long list of freshmen and sophomores who show a lot of promise.
A few scary things: short on forwards; our associate head coach is leaving to head Northwestern State; no press releases about high profile recruits; and that new coach GCU hired.

Life is full of mysteries. C'mon, 3 of those 4 can be corrected. So how good are the non NMSU schools?

WAC WBB is way more competitive than MBB. NMSU is still generally the strongest team, but by no means dominant. In 2020 they ended up in the middle of pack, in 2019 UTRGV took them to 2OT in the tournament final, and in 2018 Seattle got the NCAA bid.
Haven't checked but I believe every team in the WAC except Chicago State has had recent years when they ranked in the top half for the regular season. There's no fixed pecking order after NMSU, and given their 2020 performance I'll bet the preseason rankings this Fall will have multiple teams getting votes. Tarleton (or Dixie) could definitely make a good run.
Not sure about those problems being correctable. It's awful late. Could be the departing seniors will be replaced with walk-ons from local high schools, although that's not necessarily a bad thing.
