And Judge's shoulder thing. What's going on with their training staff?

Question RE: 2020 MLB Thread
(02-19-2020 11:55 AM)Brookes Owl Wrote:  Like stever I've been certain from the start there would be no player punishment. And when this first came out I said in the other thread that I expected a slap on the wrist because MLB wouldn't want to deal with this and would hope this whole thing could be soon forgotten. I was right about MLB but I'm thrilled (and surprised) at how vocal the players have become. It's fantastic how Manfred is getting slammed every time he opens his mouth.

I don't need players to be punished, and I don't want LA to be awarded a trophy. I want the WS to be vacated so Houston can no longer say they won it. On second thought, that's actually a pretty good player punishment.

Well, I'd agree as long as anyone on that non-WS-winning Astros team that was paid any bonus for winning the WS had to give that back. then there'd be some actual punishment, since they did not in fact win the thing. I agree that much as it stinks, no transfer of title should take place, just leave that year vacated.

Question RE: 2020 MLB Thread
Good start, but a long ways to go:

Felix Hernandez pitches two scoreless innings in spring Braves debut

Quote:NORTH PORT, FLA. — Felix Hernandez said it himself: If he pitches like he did Saturday, he’ll be in the Braves’ rotation.

Hernandez started the Braves’ first spring training game, holding the Orioles hitless over two innings in an eventual 5-0 win. He threw 30 pitches across the two frames, striking out a pair and walking one.

What a character. These particular events happened when he was a free agent, but I am sure that article was a shock to the Dbacks.

TJ surgery recommendation for Severino. No Paxton until May, no Severino until 2021. Cole, Tanaka, Happ...??? They've got some young guys, some guys with injury histories, and some relievers. Wouldn't be surprised to see Cashman try to make a deal. Who's out there?

They're probably giving up an arm and a leg to trade for anyone legitimate at this point. Quality starting pitching is already scarce. I don't see anyone having a motivation to deal until a good chunk of the season plays out.

Yup. Possible they could have pulled off a trade for Robbie Ray in the off-season, but not now.

Maybe at the Trade Deadline if the Dbacks are struggling, since he will be a FA next year.
