Great turnout last night for the DMV donors--probably the best yet. And Coach Rahne did a great job creating enthusiasm. It was not Bobby's style, but I'm sure no one expected or wanted him to be. Also awesome to have Coach Rebstock there as well.

But my main kudos to the donors. We are beginning to look like a college fanbase that is growing its footprint!

I also attended and enjoyed the reception last night in Vienna. The turnout was easily double that of last years when Bobby came up. I hope that translates in similar fan support at the games.

Did he say anything of substance about the team itself, players, projections, etc? Thanks

He said he has yet to see any of the players in live action and he has made it a point not to review last years game film because he doesn’t want to unfairly evaluate anyone. All of his assistants have reviewed all game film. So the answer to your question is no. One interesting tease offered was when someone asked him about a well known P5 QB that’s entered the transfer portal. He said he knew the player was going to do it before he entered the portal.

Yea, that was a cringe moment. I was hoping he wasn't crazy enough to answer that question openly. But reading between the lines, I'm sure he is all over that possibility.

I thought his best comment was saying that as a recruiter at his former institution, they "owned the DMV". I loved that and wish some of my VT and UVA friends could have been around to hear it as well.

Thought the comment was directed at a running back, not a QB, but I could be wrong...

Penn St has a running back in the portal. Would make sense it's him.

Unfortunately he is not a grad transfer but it would be great to get Slade. I think he is looking at UVA and Utah. Regardless, we are extremely thin at RB. We need to get extra depth somehow. After LaLa, we just have Geiger, and unknown in Wicks and a rookie Sanni. That is inadequate, especially at an injury prone position.

Thin still but you forgot Watson

He has played as WR and appears too small to play RB consistently. If he can then great.

He was moved from WR to RB. He will probably be 200 by camp. Had 25 carries last year. Hes a name to keep an eye on. The staff likes him a lot.

Good to hear that. Hopefully he will catch a lot of passes out of the backfield.
