Tarleton adds another Ranger College transfer

I wonder, was his Ranger team loaded with D1 talent, or are they just the best he can pick up right now with the covid-effect

He did the same last year, right? Do you know if he signed with an agent this time?

From the looks of his Twitter post it looks like he's a goner this time, not just testing the waters.

Perhaps. For those interested, here are each of his announcements from the last two years...

As it relates to Acquaah, I also just found an interesting quote from a recent 24/7 Sports article that may apply:

"Due to an NCAA rule change instituted last year, players are allowed to hire an agent without forfeiting their college eligibility. Players can also elect to return to school if they go undrafted, but this rule only applies to players who participate in the NBA Draft Combine."

From the sound of it, all doors could still be open to Acquaah including a possible return to CBU. Does anyone else read it the same way?

Well, Range JC had a very good record (28-3) and were ranked in the JC top 10 (#9). Heritier Ngalamulume was little used forward this past season but he has size (6'8, 220) and BCG must feel he fits well in his system and sees potential.

He's gone my friend.

Maybe, maybe not. In today's current environment, will there be an NBA combine, which he needs to get an invite to? Will there be an NBA G League Elite Camp, which he also needs an invite to? After the NBA draft, whenever that is, will there be an NBA Summer league?

Acquaah is not going to get drafted unless he is able to get in front of coaches and scouts and shows them something that they haven't seen on film. He is a fringe NBA talent and my best hope for him is getting on an NBA team through a two-way contract, where most of his time would be spent in the NBA G-league. I think he wants to go to the NBA now, but that is not very easy to do in the Covid-19 world, where so much is unknown. His best bet may be returning to CBU for 2020-2021, but who knows what may happen to college basketball this year?

Joey Madimba would be a good pick for Tarleton State if he takes BCG's offer. According to the Rivals recruiting site, Madimba is a 3-star prospect. He is listed at 6'5, 180-lbs, and considered a small forward.

Joey Madimba (per Rivals)

By the way, Madimba hails from Mansfield, TX; the same place New Mexico State is currently waiting for a player's college decision; Jaquan Scott is suppose to decide between NMSU and Kansas soon. I am not sure how big Mansfield is as a community but it is probably likely the two players know each other on the court. It would be nice if both chose the WAC to continue competing against each other.

Mansfield has 4 5A and 2 6A schools. It’s rather large.

I’ve never seen a player that averages 2points a game make such a big deal about where he’s gonna play. Social media.

Hicks has good size at 6'5, 210-lbs. Also he has pretty good stats.

According to Verbal Commits, Hicks had offers from Tarleton State, UM Kansas City and DII Harding. He also had interest from Arkansas State, Oral Roberts, and Central Arkansas. On video, he show a lot of potential.

Billy Clyde making outside moves. Nice. Was worried we'd be called Ranger State.

RE: WAC Commits 2020-21
With Gillispie adding Hicks, he is now at 15 scholarship players on the Texan current roster. He will need to move some players to get back down to 13 scholarship players. Somehow I don't think Gillispie is done recruiting for this upcoming season. I wonder who Gillispie has slated as staying and going of Reisman's prior recruits? Gillispie likes to push tempo. The ones returning from last season's roster who can't run at Gillispie's offensive and defensive tempo will probably be looking for a new basketball home.

At BCG's introductory event, I remember he gave a breakdown of how his team will play. His plan is to make sure we get at least 2 shots per posession, and limit the other team to 1 shot. He said he's looking for 80, 90 ppg. Complete opposite of what Tarleton fans are accustomed to; should be fun to watch.
