Memphis Pro Day Accolades
From Jason Muntz at the Commercial Appeal

Here are ESPN NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony's top takeaways from Memphis basketball's pro day

Quote:"Memphis, physically, pound for pound, might be the most impressive team in college basketball

But Boogie Ellis, that guy is a major talent. He’s got good size. He’s an athlete. He can really shoot the ball. He made some great passes, which wasn’t exactly his reputation coming in. Then, defensively, he was really out there competing.

(Lester) Quinones, he can really, really shoot the ball

(Damion Baugh) "I’m kind of wait-and-see on him. Physically, he’s very impressive. He had some really nifty finishes, attacking the basket. Using some creativity to finish around the rim. The jump shot needs a lot of work

Tigers in 20 - OTB: Recapping Memphis pro day with Matt Babcock

Quote:Babcock said he was very impressed with Boogie Ellis and Damion Baugh. Babcock said he didn't have either in his latest mock draft, but he added that they could both certainly be in the next one.

Babcock said he was "blown away" by Baugh's motor and size, and he also praised the ball-handling skills and scoring ability of Ellis.

Babcock said Memphis has the potential to be a Final Four team with their immense talent.

One of our MTO gurus has already proclaimed that there is no way Baugh will be a pro next year, so you can scratch that - no matter what scouts or writers say.

GP said that he heard from one or two scouts that Boogie was the guy who helped himself the most with the Pro Day.

RE: Memphis Pro Day Accolades
Penny has changed the whole narrative in college BB, as far as Memphis is concerned. He understands that being the coach is so much more than X’s and O’s (although that is important too). So far, he has wildly exceeded my expectations of what he would bring to the team and and the city. He is the whole package!
