Is Freeman’s strategy to slow them down and then stiffen in the red zone where the field shrinks and top end speed isn’t as important?

To make it worse it was on a QB. I know he’s a runner at that point, but it was still clearly targeting. Dropped his head and led with the crown. Clear flag, especially under the new rule where it has to be confirmed via replay.
