Every year when the Bronze Stalk comes around, I always think of the 2013 game when a fan yelled “Hey Lembo, did you tell the kids about UConn yet?” and Lembo started yelling back.

Opened at NIU -9.

Huskies in the middle of a 9 game stretch with 7 of those on the road, just mind boggling.

I’m liking that bet, giving 6-1/2. I think the offense dominates and I hope they are given a chance to absolutely roll...

At 6.5 NIU is probably a good bet here

Easy money for NIU at -4!

I don't think this game is as much of a slam dunk as the rest of you. Ball State has shown they can put up points, where as the Huskies have not. With all the injuries on defense and the offense still struggling I would be hesitant to take the Huskies in this game.

Agree, I don't think any game is a given this year for our Huskies. I like we keep fighting, it just seems it's our year to rebuild and define our team with the coaches. I have no high expectations, just trying to enjoy the learning process. Bowl game scares me still lol.

Ball State played NC State pretty tough two weeks ago and I believe had a bye this week? Going to be a ballgame.

Badmoon must have gotten a hold of his bookie, line is back up to NIU -5.

I’m in for $100 -4. We are going to absolutely crush them...

There are no guaranteed wins. Looking back to 2013, which was one of best, if not the best, NIU team, NIU barely escaped Eastern Illinois and a 1-6 Akron team by a TD, and even struggled with Idaho.

The NIU offense was off the charts, and I figured the MACC was a cakewalk, and look what happened.

Take every game seriously.

Side note; the game with Ball State was tied 27-27 going into the 4th quarter, then NIU dropped 21 points on them. Those were the days when you knew the offense would move the ball pretty much every drive.

Ball State is to Northern what Northern was to Vanderbilt. A win badly needed, at home, weather iffy, hoping to draw a crowd. Like to see at least the crowd like at Illinois State; a win at Vandy woulda helped, but alas. I'd agree with no bet and just enjoy the game. Got to see some positives going into Ohio and Miami-o.

This will be nowhere near the Illinois State crowd. And, assuming it rains, the crowd will be very small.
