Exactly. The UH defense finished in the bottom 5 of all of FBS last year WITH Ed Oliver. They lost an NFL corner and an NFL #1 pick. This team lost their bowl game 79-14 last year. Dana took over a train wreck. Despite this, Dana has that same team playing respectable football against a top 5 team, a top 25 team, and a solid Tulane squad that may win 10 games this year.

Its a rebuilding year---but I dont think this is a 2 to 3 year rebuild. Based on what Im seeing in the pipeline next year---we will be solid next year. If the early returns on the staffs recruiting hold---the team will be back to contending in the West by 2021. As for this year---unless the squad gel's and improves radically---this team probably wasnt going to win but 3-4 games anyway. SMU, Cinci, UCF, Navy, and Memphis are almost certain L's. So---N Texas, Tulsa, and UConn---all on the road---are pretty much the only real chances to pick up W's. I figure you go 2-1 in those games and maybe pick-up an upset at home in the other five games vs top conference opponents.

It sure has. Friendly reminder that we supposedly fire coaches for going 8-4. On a 9 game schedule that would be 6-3. With a loss today, Dana would have to win out to avoid that mark. Gonna be another long year.

In all seriousness he still deserves to bring in his players but blowing halftime leads goes beyond the players. Dana has been outcoached two games in a row. I just dont see much room for improvement (especially this year). This could be the worst UH season in a while and it really wasnt supposed to be.

yea the #72 class in 2019, the #72 class in 2020, and right now the #112 class in 2021 and a bunch of questionable transfers is going to turn things around
