Ohio State game
You know, there is nothing my dad, Duane Norman Sr., loved more than Cincinnati. His legacy of passionate support is something that I'm so proud of, and something that will carry on forever.
It's something that I'll always protect, and that I'll go out of my way to continue.
My dad's life and legacy were celebrated before the first Cincinnati game with a big tailgate attended by all of his family and friends. His friend Levon Putney, who is a famous broadcaster, talked to me extensively about my dad, who he was, and what he meant to so many people.
I talked to Levon Putney about my plans to be silent, to not disrupt anybody in the internet space, to honor my dad by silently watching and rooting for Cincinnati.
He asked me if I could really do that. Could I really move back to Cincinnati and keep my profile low? Would I really not share my passion and knowledge of Cincinnati that my dad passed along to me?
I thought about it for days. I prayed for hours and hours. And now, here is my answer.
HELL NOOOOOOOO!
There is nothing like the undefinable truth that is Cincinnati. Yesterday. Today. And for all the little boys and girls that love Cincinnati the way we all do, tomorrow. I am so proud of Cincinnati, and more than anything my dad gave me, the thing I'm proudest of is how much I love Cincinnati.
Oh, but now, Ohio State. A game we have waited for our whole loves, a legacy-defining opportunity on it's own. Ohio State, you are merely in the way and the complete domination that Cincinnati is about to unleash. Ohio State stands no chance of beating Cincinnati, and Ohio State, there will be some surprises in store for you during the game.
You can run, but you can't hide, Ohio State.
Prepare for the biggest beating ever. Brace yourself for a lifetime of pain and regret. Here comes Cincinnati. This one will be for my dad!
Cincinnati is the greatest team of all-time! Let's go!
