Calling the P5 the cartel is stupid. We have FCS and G5 for a reason. I don't think ECU belongs in the g5 but no one asked me. Small privates in areas of this country need to be demoted and I'm looking directly at Waco and Ft. Worth.

What has Texas Tech done to even come close to comparing to what TCU has done? Texas Tech has what, one conference title (in a 5 way tie at 4-3) since the mid 50s?

Tech certainly did alright in the Big 12, better than A&M, but Baylor has a Big 12 title which Tech can't claim.

Tech hasn't won a conference championship out right since 1955 when they were a member of the border conference. Since then they've been co-champions twice. Once in 1976 when they finished in a three way tie with A&M and UH. And most recently in 1994 when they finished in a 5 way tie for first in the SWC because A&M (the only team that was worth a **** that year) was on probation. Tech fans don't get to make the calls on who gets demoted or promoted. Just appreciate being in a conference with two legit blue bloods and stay humble.

Forgot about 76. Pretty easy to do. Earl was hurt and DKR retired. UT lost games at home for the first time in 7 or 8 years.

West Texas A&M won outright conference titles in the Border after Tech left, and won several outright conference titles in MVC and the Lonestar. Should they be in the Big 12 since their football have been better then Tech all this time?

On the other side, the SEC fell victim to the G5 3 times, 2 for the PAC 12, 1 apiece for the ACC and Big Ten, and zero for the Big 12, albeit LA Tech @ Texas was the only G5 vs Big 12 game of week 1.

The MWC is 4-3 against P5 competition and very nearly was 5-2 had things gone better for Utah St @ WF.

What do you all think their chances are at a winning record against the big guys?

6-1 since Fresno put up a fight against USC.

Big Sky Conference nearly got one at the expense to Arkansas which by a team who are nearly dead last in Portland State.

3 MVFC almost won over P5.

2 MAC and 1 more SBC almost pulled an upset.

I believe last year there were only a couple G5 over P5 wins during Week 1. So off to a great start. Keep it up G5!

Baylor and TCU have been Big XII co-champions and been to the Cotton and Peach bowls in the CFP era. Baylor has a recent Heisman Trophy. TCU beat the Big Ten champion in the Rose Bowl a decade ago. What has Texas Tech accomplished as a member of the cartel? Your best season was in 2007. Just be happy your school is part of the cartel and move on.

The MWC has a great weekend. The only negative is SDSU scoring 6 points on FCS Weber State.

One of our best seasons was 2008 not 2007. I guess Texas Tech should shut the football program down and bow down to schools in Ft. Worth and Waco.

I hope UTEP doesn't beat Texas Tech silly next weekend.

Not sure why you have an issue with TCU and Baylor both schools pull their weight in the conference and you’d be hard pressed to replace them. The Big 12 is very lean right now which is why the conference has competitively improved across the board.
