CSU-B loses to Montana St
Seattle loses to UNM and Oregon St.
UVU loses to WVU
Here are the non-conference records as of right now
GCU 8-1
NMSU 8-1
Seattle 6-4
UTRGV 5-5
CBU 3-6
SUC-B 3-6
Chicago St 3-7
Kansas City 2-5
UVU 2-8
A few individual non-conference matches then the last weekend of tourneys then conference play.
We're all upset about them quitting the WAC, but still, calling them SUC-B seems a little harsh.

Oops, that was not intentional at all. I have no issue with Bakersfield. For the CSU-B fans here, please forgive me. I think that if you look at the body of my posts here, that is not how I feel at all. I will endeavor to spellcheck to a higher degree in the future.

Thanks @ThunderDan49 GCU is the surprise on the good this non-conference season. UVU is much worse than I thought they would be. NMSU had a bad loss to Sac St this past weekend.
I am looking forward to this week's matches, if only the WDN would work correctly.

First conference matches
CSU-B vs KC - 0-3 Honest question here. How does CSU-B not get the tons of Volleyball talent that is in California? Does the team generate interest on campus? I ask the same question about bad college football in CA or TX.
GCU - CSU 3-0
NMSU - UVU 3-1
UTRGV - Seattle 3-0
CBU had a non-conference match against NAIA St Katherine. They won 3-0.

Interesting that UVU was the only losing team to even win a single set from their opponent. Not that it means anything at this point. Just interesting.
Also, look at us with 2 pages of solid volleyball content. Basketball might end up dethroned as king of the WAC if this keeps up! Haha

Nice! :)
Another interesting stat, of the 4 conference games, the home team was only 1-3. Not sure what to make of that, but it is interesting.
So on Saturday
CSU-B @ Chicago St - The Runners should win this one, as two 0-1 teams in the conference face off.
CBU @ KC - This one could be very interesting to watch, to see which team is for real.
UTRGV @ UVU - UTRGV looking for the sweep of their two matches and could get it as UVU just does not look strong this season.
NMSU@Seattle - Another team who should end up with a sweep of the conference games this week.

I think it is more with who was hosting. The only host that was above .500 headed into this weekend was Seattle and the only home team that won is basically on the same competitive level as the road team.

CSU-B @ Chicago St - 3-1 for CSU-B
CBU @ KC - 0-3 for KC
UTRGV @ UVU - 2-3 for UVU
NMSU@Seattle - 3-0 for NMSU
Two matches today:
CBU @ Chicago St - Who can escape the basement of WAC volleyball. My bet is CBU wins this one.
GCU @ KC - Will determine which team is still undefeated in conference play. KC has 4 wins in a row, GCU 3 in a row. Should be a good one.
Conference Standings after 1 weekend:
GCU 1-0
NMSU 2-0
KC 2-0
UTRGV 1-1
CSU-B 1-1
UVU 1-1
Seattle 0-2
CBU 0-1
Chicago St 0-2

GCU is 2-8 lifetime against UMKC. If history is any indicator then the Roos should be the favorites. However, GCU is having a great season so far so hopefully they can pull out a victory. Go Lopes!

GCU takes down UMKC 3-1 and moves to 12-2 on the year (2-0 in WAC). Looks like they are the real deal this season.

RE: WAC Volleyball 2019
I know on a national scale people look down on "move ups" which is absurd. At one point lots of teams in the Mountain West, CUSA and Sun Belt were move ups and have enjoyed success at the highest level. Who would have thought a team named Boise State in the middle of Idaho would turn into a powerhouse football program. Screw the naysayers. I don't hear them talk about the winning record the WAC has had vs. MWC or others the last couple of years and the improved rating of the conference. Whats up with that?

I'm a new follower to volleyball, so didn't have the background on record v. MWC or improved rating. Thanks for sharing!
