Rookie RB Tony Pollard gets Dak Prescott’s vote as one of Cowboys' 'most exciting' players

OXNARD, Calif. — Dak Prescott said Sunday that a running back was “one of the most exciting players, to me, of this training camp.”

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback wasn’t referring to missing-in-action Ezekiel Elliott. Tony Pollard, whom Dallas drafted out of Memphis in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, continues to turn heads.

In a goal-line series during Sunday’s intrasquad scrimmage, he leveraged blocks from Connor Williams and Travis Frederick to run through an open lane on his left. Ramping up his speed, he wrapped around the left side with safety Jeff Heath in pursuit. Touchdown.

It was the latest win for a rookie who has impressed in the run and pass game, as well as playing both ways on special teams.

Jerry Jones also made a postiive comment on Tony on TV here in Dallas last night. Said he was going to see a lot of playing time this year.

Love TP and will miss seeing him in a Memphis uniform on Saturdays in the fall. Incredibly excited to see him do big things on Sundays. TP is a playmaker. Cowboys got a good one.

Prescott has never won a playoff game and was ranked 30 players higher than a former MVP of the league by the players. What a joke. Talk about a 'brother hood'.

He is still a young player.
Entering his fourth season as a QB. New OC...
Took over for Tony Romo in 2016...in a offense designed FOR Romo...and led the team to a 13-3 record.
Last year the team started off with a WR by committee approach...and their OL coach reallllllly sucked.
After trading for Amari Cooper (and jettisoning their OL coach), they improved dramatically, won the division, and still made the playoffs, after beginning the year 3-5.
Yes he has a lot to prove, and this is the season he does that.

Y'all remember to patronized Pollard's BBQ in Whitehaven. Tony's folks will appreciate it. Makes a great tailgate and an outstanding Sunday NFL tv party. Last time I was there Tony took my order.

4560 Elvis Presley Blvd

I grew up in Whitehaven. That building was originally a Burger King in the 70's but changed to Leonard's in the late 70's. There was a taco place across the street but not taco bell. That building still stands too.

I think Prescott was one of those QBs who overachieved early then (I’m not sure if these guys are so predictable the defense figures them out or what) become average or worse. Seems half of them are out of the league in 3-5 years. History is full of them.

Forgot about that wild card win. I don't consider a wild card game a playoff victory.

But i guess it counts.
