Yeah, uh not necessarily. I know at least three UofM professors personally and while they are good guys no one would ever accuse them of being geniuses.

There's a poster on this board who is widely considered the most dumbassest employee at the school.

Knowing the person you are referring to caused my opinion of the entire university to drop.

My friends never take bathroom breaks when swimming. And we drink a ton. What's up with that?

Good for Dr. Rudd! I'll agree that he's the best Pres we've had at UofM!

Keeping the pools PH balance in check.

What exactly is racist in this thread?

It's dissing a black mayor, oh my! You can't say things like that about a black Memphian, don't you know that??

Maybe he thinks that there are better ways to spend that kind of money other than
a dang pool.
Some of you would be the same ones jumping down his throat if the county started operating in the red because he is rubber stamping millions of taxpayers dollars on frivolous pet projects for supposedly self sufficient entities that he has no jurisdiction over.

So wrong. Harris has said its a good project and good for the community and the money is still available... he just confirms he has a higher priority. The problem is he said give me a timeline which is already in place. If you are going to extort money from someone/something you should at least be certain you don't already have what you are asking for.

Memphis Democrats ain't any different than those rednecks.

Not really true. While Vandy isn't quite Yale, I've met more than a fair share of Vandy Law grads that I wouldn't trust to get me out of a traffic ticket.

Not to be presumptuous, but I'm sure Yale doesn't get many Morehouse applicants to their law school.

I am sure you are right about the quality of the end product from Vanderbilt that you noted, but in order to get accepted there, one still must score really well (which indicates certain intellectual abilities) and have an outstanding resume. Same goes for Yale. And while I am sure it is more competitive to get accepted at Yale, Vandy is one of the top Law School in the country.

I would not have any idea regarding the number of applicants to Yale come from Morehouse, but I would not expect it to be many. After all, it is a small school.

This refers to the undergraduate FRAUDULENT SCHEME that has recently been uncovered. Harris was accepted to the Law School. My guess is the vetting process was a bit more stringent. But whatever.

But aren't there are other qualifications in place nowadays for acceptance into Ivy League schools [for students and professors]?

The Commercial Appeal now says that Harris "won"...
https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/n...682994001/

Quote:So yes, Harris came out on top. He got what he was after. But at what cost? In the grand scheme of things, he may have lost much more than he won by alienating the U of M.
