Bellarmine lacrosse in transition
Ugh. Men's hoops is easily my favorite sport at the alma mater, but lacrosse probably comes in second. I'm bummed that the current state of the lax program is "dumpster fire."

Things started out so well under the late, great Jack McGetrick, who founded the program close to fifteen years ago and quickly shaped it into a real "up-and-comer." Sadly, reports are that one or both of the subsequent staffs butchered the scholarship allocation, and BU has no new ones to offer for the next two seasons.

Jim Mitchell (not the old-school WHAS-TV anchorman, for you L'ville types out there) seemed to be a good hire who just resigned (guessing due to the scholarship situation, either as a contributor or just because of the aftereffect). Now BU's star freshman and leading scorer (SoCon Freshman of the Year) is in the transfer portal.

Still some talent there and good angles to pitch to recruits. Good luck to the next coach, whom I hope can right the ship. Wish they'd get that Canadian pipeline going again.

I dont know much (anything really) about LAX. And I have a feeling UNA will add a sport or two in the future, as popular as its become, maybe they add it. But will probably add mens soccer...
