For being the worst coach, Scott Loeffler is building quite a recruiting class (on paper).

Agree pretty much with the rankings,would move Candle down to 6th and Mc from CMU to 2nd.

Candle is averaging 9 wins a season. A MACC in 3 seasons and is 2-1 vs NIU.

I kinda feel like a new coach should start out ranked in the middle. Sort of a presumption of averageness.

Solich has been at OU since 2005 and has yet to win
a MACC. I'll have to check out his record against the MAC West.

To be fair, he’s an unproven head coach so putting him ahead of half of the MAC coaches is jumping the gun a bit. They should revisit this list at the halfway mark of the season.

Boca- he stepped into a GREAT situation. Previous Coach Cambell IMO is one of the top coaches in the country. Excellent evaluator of talent , recruiter and can put it together. I like Leopold and Creighton for what they have to work with. Toledo much better gig, but they have squeezed more out of their resources that they were given.

Campbell's last two recruiting classes weren't that good.Candle's had to rebuild the program because of the 2015 and 2016 classes. This will be the first year that the team will really be Candle's.

Was it Cambells recruiting classes or Candles in experience? Cambell only coach I know that offered 2 QBs that got drafted and that were not recruited by P5 schools in same class . Woodside & Lauretta. @ Iowa St he beats OU and Texas with back up QB. That guy is very underated on the national level.

Solich's team may not go to the MCC every year, but they are never an easy win, and they do not have losing seasons. When it comes to coaching in the MAC, he is the tallest dwarf.

Solich is very good but having a had a few chances and not winning the MACC has to keep him awake at night.

He’s like the Marv Levy of the MAC.

Scott Isphording, who is now Ohio U's QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator, is the one who recruited
Woodside as a member of Campbell's staff. He was the MAC Recruiter of the year in 2013, the last year with the Rockets.
The 2015 Class was 4th in the MAC and had a number players that careers were cut short by injury and then 2016(#88 ranked Class)about half the Class never got on the FB field.
