Late August? Don't they know we need something to occupy our time UNTIL late August when football returns?!?

Glad we are playing UConn, Memphis, Houston, Wichita State, and Temple twice. UCF will probably be a dumpster fire this year too but they are usually good for TV as well. That will be a nice boost to the tournament resume and should result the highest possible number of games nationally televised. This conference schedule is about as good as we could have asked for pairings wise.

I would agree . I would have swapped USF and ECU in a perfect would . I guess the league considers it a rivalry now since we lost at ECU last year 03-banghead

Yea...in a perfect world that gets swapped but lets beat ECU twice. Mick had two inexplicable losses down there that need avenged.

I like it.

For some reason, SMU and Tulsa are always tough road trips for us.

Road games in this league are going to get increasingly difficult. There are some good coaches and good recruiters. The days of gimme games at Tulane, ECU, USF and UCF are over. Games at Memphis, UCONN, Temple, Wichita and Houston will be true tests.

RE: 2019-20 Basketball schedule Conference pairings
Are the home and homes in conference a true rotation? Like will there be a year where UC only plays Houston/Memphis once?

Or is it based off of trying to get the best teams playing each other the most times?

I remember it took a while for UC and UCF to play in football for some reason, which seems to follow neither of the rotation guidelines i mentioned above.

Basketball has been set up for the best teams to play eachother to help get more teams in the tournament by avoiding the bottom feeders.

Football is a true rotation. Each year you play half of the other division so for other division teams you play them two years then your off two years.

Basketball is scheduled to get the best teams matched up against each other as much as possible

Football is a set rotation on playing 3 teams from the West each year . In the first 2 years of the league it was one division and for whatever reason UCF and UC weren't paired together

EDIT: Realdeal types faster than me. pardon the repeat post

Play Tulane only once. Check.
SMU at home to continue to dominate Count Jank. Check.
Play an improved USF on the road for a better SOS. Check.
Play all the best conference teams home and home with the exception of ECU. Check.

I'm very pleased with our conference schedule gents.

wish we had the two games vs USF instead of ECU but otherwise, no complaints.

RE: 2019-20 Basketball schedule Conference pairings
Probably as good as a schedule as we could have asked for. No Tulsa or SMU on the road is big. Difficult places to play and long travel avoided.

14 eastern time zone games versus 4 central time zone games.

I see roughly 11 quality win opportunities, 5 games that could end looking real bad and a couple in between.

My revised early league picks are
1. Cincy
2. Houston
3. Memphis
4. Wichita State
5. Temple
6. UConn
7. USF
8. Tulsa
9. SMU
10. Tulane
11. ECU
12. UCF

I expect the top three to make the tournament while another one in the next four to maybe sneak in. The middle is mostly fighting for NIT. I expect ECU and Tulane to be improved. UCF might be awful.

Hopefully this means more 7 PM starts rather than 9 PM starts? I feel like the 9 PM games were when the Bearcats went to overtime.

As someone who is 29 going on 80, I'd really appreciate not having to try to avoid nodding off during the second half. After my 3 PM dinner and all.

But seriously, we'll probably end up with the same amount because it's the AAC.

Hate to argue, but I think USF finishes top 3-4. Solid squad with a real nice back court.
