Good news is regardless of who the coach is we should be better next season and I think we lose Hurtado and sign three more. I know folks want to sign another big but I don't think its as critical as getting two more guys that can light it up from behind the arc. Scoff all you want but Jude will turn some heads next season.
In the one game he played Jude turned some heads, not surprised at all

Ehsan is most likely coming back and attendance will average less than 3,000. That is unless we can win this tournament. Hope springs eternal and we still have a chance.
But if we don't and we have the $ for a change, we should make it. Our window for leaving this **** hole of a conference behind is fast approaching and we need to be sending signals that we are damn serious about moving up.

Record wise we were like 7th in CUSA. Even if you wanna call it 5th, that still sucks in this league.

For those of you who wish to crap on Ehsan regardless, remember we played the 4 toughest teams in the conference at the end of the season & held our own.

And hiring Andy Kennedy wouldn't get you a crowd over 3000 either.
I don't know if you have noticed the trend but since football was ended the attendance has tanked.
Even when we had the good conference tournament run & follow up season the attendance sucked.
It's not Ehsan's fault totally.

No but winning consistently will increase attendance. The last time we did that was in 15-16 and our average attendance was nearly 5k. Who wouldn't take that right now?

I can make a bitching board if that's what folks want so others can enjoy the main board. Hell we can't even enjoy a F-ing win.
I'll reserve my comments about you trying to dictate what other people discuss on a fan message board but I'll refrain from any further coach bashing until this seasons officially over.

The coaching carousel is cranking up as more BBHCs are being fired as the season winds down. UCLA is just one of the better jobs now open. Maybe a Coaching HIRE/ FIRE thread would be fun to watch.

A tough job but it will probably pay pretty well. Exceeding expectations shouldn't be that hard either seeing as how the Wave haven't been worth a **** since Gerald Honeycutt was in uniform.

If, The Goal is to fill the Arena, Andy was 20 plus years ago with the Green and Goal Faithful, Eshan, exceeded the expectations, I would let him coach again unless he does knot want too. Every Body wants to stay home and complain about attetendace. Its the Day of the age.
When I was in the ham, I went to every game, Can't really say much though cause, I have knot to been to a game of my Alma Mata in years, What to do.
Can't be any more honest then that.

Put a winner on the court and the people will show up. I've been living near Auburn since Pearl was hired and he brought excitement, and most importantly, winning. Another thing that Pearl does that I'm not sure if Ehsan does is that he's very active on campus. I talked to him a few years ago at an Auburn baseball game after we signed the 4 game series with them. He buys students pizza during finals time. Participates in various on campus fundraisers. Students will support a guy who also supports them.

Yup, and it has to be a big winner. No "2nd straight 20 win season" pats on the back for beating D2's and SWAC teams and losing to last-place Troy and Charlotte at home.

Fairly recent history doesn’t really support the idea that people show up to watch the Blazers when winning.
If you look at the game by game attendance during the Mike Anderson years (the best years as my time as a fan), the attendance still wasn’t very good against crappy opponents

Wasn't sustained long enough. Another four years like his first four at UAB may have done it. After he left, it was then 5 more seasons before we could make it back to the newly expanded field. Add another 4 for the next NCAA win. We built our program on beating teams we weren't supposed to beat and winning games in the NCAA. The landscape may have changed over those 40 years but UAB basketball's recipe for success has not.

Plus we also played big name conference opponents. There are zero bball opponents now that interest me in the least. Back then we had Memphis, Louisville, Cincy, Marquette. They're a far cry from WKU, ODU, and Rice.

Parts of the Davis' era were well attended and some games in Haase's last season. Our problem is no follow through. We had a nice start to what appeared to be a revival by beating ISU and winning the Season Title in CUSA. But then we blew it in the CUSA tournament and it has been downhill ever since. Davis era had the same pattern. Some really good regular seasons, then we blow it late.
