Correct answer. Few places offer a more beautiful road trip.
But, we need them back as a full member.
Their basketball program is on another level.

I think most on this board were in favor of dropping Idaho and bringing NMSU in as a full member.
They're still on Georgia Southern's schedule as an out of conference match up and have been ever since they left. Clearly, we wanted them to stay.

I get that they are a strong basketball team, but would their inclusion (and say... Missouri State or... Tennessee State or an Eastern school that we legit thought would accept an invite) make us a two bid basketball league?
I think that's the biggest question. Because if they don't, then really all it does is cost the conference members money.
And honestly, I don't know enough about basketball to say that it would or wouldn't.
Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of NMSU and selfishly want them in the conference, but if they don't bring money to the table, it doesn't make sense (particularly for schools like CCU and App. They... right or wrong... have most likely no interest in them)

The NMSU Fb only membership wasn't that bad of a deal. They didn't get CFP money. They helped pay travel costs. We didn't have to send every sport there. But they didn't add anything positive to our conference in that sport. Now adding them as an all sport member you'd lose that travel cost stipend. You're sending every sports way out there without a travel partner on their end. You're splitting the CFP money more ways. It just doesn't make sense. If we got an increase in CFP money by adding them as a FB only member, I'd say yes. But otherwise, it's a drain of resources.

The only caveat to that would be if adding them increased the basketball money. But yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well.
