No but we have a head coach who has won 20+ games the last two years. Please send him a contract.

You can have ours, too.

You can have our Women's coach. We think he's coaching his final game for us Monday at Coastal. He won 3 conference regular season titles and got us a few WNIT bids in 20 years. Never got to the NCAA Tournament, but that's obviously not a big thing.

We pay roughly 250K for ours. Mohajir calls raising his salary after 19 unsuccessful seasons as one of his crowning moments for Title IX advancements in our program.

checked the employee database and Georgia State's WBB coach made $180k in 2018, but that figure is obviously influenced by her early departure mid-year. In 2017, she earned roughly $230k. I'd say $200k+ would be a competitive salary at our level.

these are the employee salaries for Southern if interested. It seems GS' WBB coach earned little shy of $120k. (side note, Byington is a steal for $250k. same with $420k for Lunsford. great job by your AD)

With booster contributions Lunsford makes over 700 K. But other coaches esp women s coaches we seem to pay as little as possible. Softball coach roughly 80K and women s b-ball coach who is now gone 119 K. We will have to up both of those to get better coaches

Don't forget those numbers only include the money that comes from the USG. Those salaries are higher once you include the money coming from the money athletics raises and additional incentives.

Of course, Kirby Smart is listed as making 6 million+, and you know the BoR isn't contributing that. Though I'm fairly sure CCL makes more than that.

RE: GS cans women s basketball coach
In 2017, Ron Hunter's salary was listed as $600k. Im pretty sure that figure included his incentives and bonuses for winning the conference tournament and playing in the NCAA tourney.

As GaSoEagle said, perhaps private contribution is supplementing Lunsford's official contract with the school. I did think Lunsford's salary seemed little off (that or GS' AD might be a gifted negotiator.) Is that case with Byington as well? $250k/yr for men's bball head coach doesn't look right either.

Well, our coach "decided not to seek an extension" which is nice of him, considering we weren't going to offer him an extension. You can have him....he will work cheap.

I think with booster added money Byington makes somewhere between 300-350K. That probably I would guess is in the range of what most Belt b-ball coaches make although Hunter is considerably above that

$300-350k....would be in the lower spectrum of mid-major jobs alongside Stephen F Austin State, South Dakota State, and Florida Gulf Coast. IMO, Byington's agent would have a strong case for a hefty raise. He has done a fine job down there.

Meanwhile in Atlanta, Ron Hunter's contract is up next year, and I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for $750k+ similar to MTSU and SDSU. Charlie Cobb will have no choice but to pay up.

Well staying the **** out of federal court for a case you are going to lose is ALWAYS a win.

The rumor is that stAte pays more than $200K. Twenty year coach, no NCAA tournaments, and few winning seasons. Next to a gov't job, coaching at stAte is the easiest job in America. Like the marines, we take care of ours.
