I think you and Hammock think alike. NIU offered him. Along with Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. A coach can dream, right?

I mean, the level of knowledge and comfortability with a coaching staff that you've known for your entire hs career. Playing with your brother. Playing at a school that has sent multiple offensive lineman to the NFL, including recently. NIU has to at least be a consideration for him, even if it's not a serious likelihood.

When I see a Wisconsin kid with a Wisconsin offer i pretty much go - well, he's no longer available. Especially O-line. But he has 2 years of HS ball left. Who knows what will happen. Plus we can't let Toledo be the only MAC school who offers 5 star recruits….05-nono

Great point. As long as there is a connection, why not take a shot.

Signing now, I would think this is a 2020 PWO.

The February-long dead period finally ends tonight so we should see recruiting activity pick up quite a bit starting tomorrow.

He is a 2021 Commit, however Hammock did also post on twitter that there is a new addition for 2020, nothing on who it is yet. My bet is one of the guys who has been committed for a while but just hadn't officially signed:

Charlie Fish
Donovan Bieber
Trayvon Rudolph
Jayden Lambert
CJ Dunn

Actually, it looks like Battle is a 2020 commit. Here is his Hudl profile, and he has Senior Highlights

Easy to do with Jr Day yesterday and a couple of commits from that so '21 was on the mind!

Not the only connection/relationship that Hammock is using to get in on the ground level with some big time talent. Have '22 offers out to:

6'6" WR Jerry Cross (teammate of '21 committ JaVaughn Byrd)

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11112694/5d...0d78575a71

Potential Beast Mode Tight End Micah Riley (teammate of Jeyvon Ducker)

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11479445/5d...0f180f8888

Love the way Hammock and staff are building relationships not just with players but with families and programs to create pipelines.
