Longest winning streaks against non-P5s
I'm curious what the longest streaks are for schools for beating non-P5 opponents.

My caveat would be that losses against schools who P5/BCS 6+SWC+Big 8 at the time of the game don't count. So a TCU loss to Rice when they both were in the SWC wouldn't count. The same would go for Temple beating Rutgers when they were in e Big East together.

Same “P5” logic should extend to year #1 on the AAC when the conference supplied an auto-bid to the (final year of the) BCS.

There were 6 power conferences under the BCS structure, today there are five.

By the way, though it was post-SWC, thank you for reminding me of the game in LaDanian Tomlinson’s Junior year that we boat-raced TCU 42-21 at Rice Stadium.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious: UCF football has a current streak of 22 wins vs. non-P5 opponents.

Boise State's longest such streak was 21, in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Arizona State, when they were in the WAC, had a "non-P5" streak of 32 wins in a row, starting in the 1969 season and ending in the 1972 season. They were 11-0 in 1970 and 10-1 in 1971 with their only loss in 1971 to Oregon State.

RE: Longest winning streaks against non-P5s
I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, but several big P5 powers probably have long winning streaks in terms of both games and years.

E.g., Alabama hasn't lost to a non-P5 school in over 10 years, since the 2009 Sugar Bowl vs Utah, who was in the MWC at the time. They are 29-0 since then.

Also, LSU had a long win-streak versus non-powers broken when they lost to Troy in 2017. Before that, they hadn't lost to a non-P5 since they were beaten by VT in 2002, and since VT was in a power league, the Big East, the last true such loss had been in 2000 vs Alabama-Birmingham, fully 17 years before.

I bet it's been quite a while since Clemson, Ohio State, and a few others have lost as well.

Jeez Louise. Went and looked Frank Kush's record up after reading that because I knew they went 12-0 in 1975. From 1967 to 1975 only had one season with more than 2 losses (1974 7-5). Had .800 or better winning percentage in 8 of 9 seasons.

The 1975 squad finished #2. OU won the national title at 11-1 despite a 20 point loss to 7-5 Kansas team.

Didn't realize the 11-0 AState team of 1975 had a common opponent with Arizona State. Sun Devils beat Idaho 29-3 and AState beat the Vandals 23-6
