Well that's strange. It was a couple of students hosting it, in what seemed to be part of a club at UNCW. Below is a clip from the original video that was posted with Kai giving a message in Japanese to Gonzaga's Rui Hachimura. In the full video they talk about him growing up playing with Rui in Japan. Don't know why they took down the the full length interview, I thought it was pretty well done.
Glad they put it back up.. I wonder if the Beat & Beard are considering a Cease & Desist!
No need if those guys are gonna spend 20 min of the hour on Carmelo Anthony and garbage rap. Listening to those young kids talking about “hip hop” made me laugh man. None of what they listed I would call hip hop. That’s all “meh” level radio rap-pop. Start listing off underground hip hop, or the lesser known that actually practice and cultivate the craft vs people like Drake. Lol. Tupac, Wu, Dre, Biggie, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Jedi Mind Tricks, and many many others would destroy these Kanye wannabees like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and especially “trap” and mumble rap.
Sorry. Rant over.
I’ll check in on these guys for portions of the UNCW player interviews, but give me Beat & The Beard all day. Now, if B&B start doing full on interview segments with guest... game, set, match.

I was being sarcastic in regards to the B&B lol. Those guys are awesome and I don't think there's anyone who could cover UNCW athletics better. Didn't know the rap conversation would cause such a stir on here. Good to see a heated discussion can begin over something other than what defense we should be playing! For what it's worth I'm more of a Tribe (not W&M), Nas, and Outkast guy myself.

Oh i know, my comment was more in regards to all of us crapping on new school rap! I agree, i can listen to old school all day long, NAS, Tribe, Blacksheep etc..... That was back when it actually took talent to rap.

Gotta let the kids be kids. At the end of the day whatever it takes for them to get in the right mindset come tip off is cool with me... Basketball related, I thought it was interesting to hear him talk hoops. You can tell he's a coach's son.

If you want a laugh, look at the transcripts of YouTube videos. Some have transcripts and some do not. Some videos let anyone edit the transcript. The transcript spelled his name Chi Caves. It's computer-generated rather than manually done. He has a strange name (at least by American standards), but it's still bad when only 3 out of 8 letters in his name in the transcript are actually in his name ("a" in his first name and the transcript's last name doesn't count as a match). I thought about a famous person with a name that's hard to spell, and I came up with Mike Krzyzewski. A YouTube transcript spelled his name "like Tchaikovski." If I searched long enough, I wonder how many misspellings of Krzyzewski I could find in YouTube transcripts.

I’m not sure if I’m more impressed with all this information or your commitment to spending your spare time going through such a process.

I can get down with you on some Nas. His song “Rewind” was so sick years ago when he rapped a storyline backwards. Slick stuff there. His beef with Jay-Z around that time produced some legendary music on both ends. Second all time favorite beef that led to production behind Biggie and Tupac.

FYI: There have been two NBA players born in Japan, and they hardly played. Yuta Tabuse played 17 minutes for Phoenix in November and December 2004. Yuta Watanabe is a rookie who played for Memphis on October 27 and November 14. He went to George Washington.

Tough to beat Big and Pac! Did you see both movies? I'm sure the truth is stretched a tad but interesting insight to what both sides were thinking.
