All three of those things are milestones.

This type of salary commitment + the new stadium + the donor membership drive look like signs we're positioning ourselves for the next realignment moves. That is great to see.

Throw the athletics items in with hitting the $1B Campaign for UAB goal plus all the new construction/growth happening around campus and we're really set up well for the next few years. All those items plus the med school's reputation and our prestiage research enterprise should make UAB an attractive candidate for a bigger conference.

How much of a raise, percentage wise, is this from his previous base salary?

I'm happy that UAB seems to be finally making the commitment to athletics like we should have years and years ago...

UAB will now be paying its head coach more than ECU, UCONN, and South Florida in the AAC. Looks like Clark will be the 11th highest paid G5 coach based on current year contracts.

Base salary before was around $900,000. New base salary is over $1.4 million

500,000/900000 leads to about a 55% + raise in base salary.
