Paradise Jam 2019 and Maui Jim Maui 2021
I was listening to Mick Cronin's coach's show last night (which if you haven't listened to it before, or if you haven't attended, you really should consider it) - and Mick mentioned that we have been accepted to some future exempt tournaments for basketball: 11-28-2018 Mick Cronin Radio Show

2019: Paradise Jam in St. Thomas of the US Virgin Islands
2021: Maui Jim Maui invitational

Sorry if this has already been posted - but can anyone verify the second one? I know that Paradise Jam announced the field for next year (BG, Nevada, WKU, etc.) but the only thing I could find on the 2021 Maui Jim Maui invitational was Purdue.

Either way - both of these sound fun and I think I might have to swing a Thanksgiving trip to the US Virgin Islands next year!

Chad mentioned in another thread that we're going to the Maui Jim tournament, but he said in 2022.

Man oh man, that Paradise Jam field is absolutely terrible, although I guess it's better than the Chicago States and Arkansas-Pine Bluffs of the world.

I'm guessing that's really just being used as a recruitment tool, because every one of those opponents are basically buy games outside of Nevada (although they're going to be not great next year once the Martins and Musselman leave) and WKU.

Guessing Nevada's coach catches the next train to the P5 after this season too.

It's embarrassing year after year when people ask me where and who UC is playing during the week of Thanksgiving. When there are ten better tournaments going on. I mean, at least we win them...but does it really count if nobody sees it?

I think Doss is already there. Something about wanting to fly in a few days early before the games start.

It’s a shame a ton of the resorts down there are still recovering from the 2017 hurricane.

Yeah, I looked in on Mahogany Run, one of the cooler golf courses I've ever played, and it is completely shuttered...decimated by Irma. St. Thomas got hit extremely hard two years ago...I don't think there's much of anything standing down there that was there before.

I was going to since I work at Illinois State & thought it'd be cool to see ISU vs UC.... but then the wife told me that we're having a baby in early December. So that put the kibosh on that.

Have talked to several people that are going and we are booked. Found a house on AirBnB that was very reasonable. Going with 2 other couples.
