I am NOT dissappointed with ODU. They have only been playing FBS for 5 years. I don't know what the expected time frame is for them to go from FCS to Alabama but I think it is more than 5 years. The upset of Virginia Tech demonstrates the potential there.

They have not won the conference in basketball, but I think they have had teams good enough to win many conferences in division 1. I thoroughly enjoyed our games with them the last few years. Always competitive games played at a high level to my eye. I don't think there will be many years where they are truly bad and that is more than I can say for several conference mates.

4 years and counting and your school still hasn't done JACK Friggin Crap. Your football team sucks, your football recruiting as been in the bottom 3 the last 4 years. You've yet to do 1 positive thing except win a defunct tourney that they couldn't even fill.

Your basketball team in the last 2 years have failed to have more than 1 shooter on the floor at anytime and is coached by an idiot that couldn't put two offensive plays back to back. ODU tries to beat their opnt down and win a 1 point game in the 50s.

Hell Marshall went 5-32 in ex. last night from 3 and still had 83 points and 56 of that came in the paint. That's because we always have 4 and sometimes 5 legit shooters on the floor.

Sounds like your guys might be able to beat ODU in one of the basketball games between the two teams this season. After losing both contest last year to lowly ODU, I know the prospects of turning that around must be exciting news. Good luck.

Scratching my head a little at some of the posts here. I thought Marshall won the conference and went to the Dance last year...Must be mistaken..

How does that idiot coach with 1 shooter on the floor keep beating Marshall though?

You didn't score 83 against West Virginia Wesleyan because of having "4 legit shooters on the floor, you scored 83 because you played 78 possessions (1.06 ppp). Just like you scored 113 against Glenville State (113 points on 91 possession...1.24 ppp) Gave up 108 on 93 possessions (1.16 ppp)

Just to show you an example; ODU scored 83 points on 67 possessions vs. VA Wesleyan. (1.24 ppp) Not all 83 points scored are equal.

FWIW, I expect Marshall to be much better than their 2 poor exhibition games.
