RE: Walt Maddox Asked "Alabama or Auburn?"
The Alabama or Auburn question is irksome and reminds me of an old joke. A Rabbi walks into a bar in Belfast, Northern Ireland. An Irish Republican Army tough guy walks up to him and asks, "Laddy are you Protestant or Catholic?" The Rabbi responds ..."Well I am Jewish". The IRA guy ponders a moment and asks , "Well would you be a Protestant or Catholic Jewish fellow?'

One could ask why a state with such limited educational funding would build two new colleges in Montgomery which already had AL State or why UAH was built in the same metro area as AL A&M? Both original state universities could have benefited from that large additional state funding.
Sure, why not? And Floridians are racist for asking "Florida or Florida State," instead of "Florida A&M or Bethune-Cookman."
Virginians are racist for asking "Virginia or Virginia Tech" instead of "Virginia Union or Virginia State."
You always find a way to twist every topic into fitting some BS agenda.
Virginia and Florida are very wealthy states while Alabama's education budget for 2019 is still $200 million below its 2007 education budget. It has built three separate new state universities in two cities where it already had two existing state universities. How many Mercedes does a poverty level family need? Alabama also maintains two separate full medical schools where most states can only maintain one. All of these duplications were political pay backs from powerful state politicians rewarding their friendly supporters at great state expense.

He was asked a question. If it was just about trying to get elected he would has said Alabama.
I was just going by the poorly worded thread title which was phrased like he asked the question. Should have said “he WAS asked...”
I stand by my statement though. He’s a politician trying to get elected. And there is no negative connotation meant by that.
I would have answered "Howard Johnson's Peppermint Stick"
