After beating VT, what happens next?
OK,
Let's look at the shorter term impact of this epic win...
Does this ignite our players? ... and we sweep easily through the rest of the season into a bowl. Greater focus, pride and effort in our players from within.
Or was this a GMU and/or VCU one-off Final Four fluke?
Discuss.

As much as I hate to say it but VCU seems to have leveraged their 2011 run pretty well. They were down last year, but had made the tournament every year before that since their run. I think we’ll be sitting well if we can do that. Mason ... well, that was a flash in the pan.

If we didn't have 22 seniors is be more worried. But came out flat....terrible. team and player only meeting. Come out and play like a team we expected to see. I am feeling good that the seniors will keep the team grounded and confident.
Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

The issue is we've lost 2 CUSA East games already. Unless the East craps the bed we will probably not make the CUSA final game, even if we win out. But if this win really ignited the team and we turn around and make a bowl, I'll be impressed. But we gotta go one game at a time. On to ECU

The good spin is we lost to 2 of the worst East teams. So if we take care of business against the top teams, we'd just need both to lose one other game. And FAU and Marshall play, so we just need the winner of that to drop one. It would be a cluster **** and highly unlikely for all the chips to fall in our direction. But it is possible.

I don't want to put too much emphasis on one game, but all the good things we gained from last saturday will be gone if we don't show up tomorrow.

We need to play just as we did and run the table up to North Texas, setting up the kind of high stakes matchup this program really needs to have. Hardly a small task however.
Ok now back to that very important weekend at ECU.

HM's latest article:
http://www.odusports.com/ViewArticle.dbm...1534767469
Should note, his write ups are on point and has been drawing me back into the ODUsports website ever since his hire. Reads with as much info as his articles with the Pilot but provides more personal touch since being only officiated with the school. Good pickup for ODU!

I love these articles so much more than his work at the Pilot.

I love Harry but he got this wrong.
The reality is only a small number of your fans can travel to see a bowl game live. There were perhaps 1,000 ODU fans in the Bahamas two years ago.
If not for the bowl being in Bahamas(which is good for players and coaches) i would assume Monarch faithful would've shown up to our first bowl game doesn't matter where it is in the main land USA. Travelling to Bahamas, Hawaii/Alaska will always put a strain on budgets for families at least the medium to lower income Monarch families esp when they have a vacation lined up. Just my 2 cents.

Yes. Plus the game are all around the holidays and you can't plan ahead for them. There wasn't a scenario where I could have gone to the bowl game in 2016 because of that reason.

Fans overreact to ODU's next win or loss?

I had it set up where I'd be able to afford any (C-USA affiliated) bowl game we went to, as long as it wasn't the Bahamas bowl.

I find it really disappointing that the first bowl game we went to as a program was one that fans weren't able to go to. You only get one first bowl, and I feel the opportunity was wasted.

We might be the minority but yeah i felt like that too, it was great for the players and coaches though. Looks like they had fun and stashed moments they'd savor for life.

Location sucked (due to the travel) that said you should have gone it was doable.
