Hate it but a lot of programs seem to be having this issue. We only had 33K for NC State. Although it did rain, which it seems to for every MU home game - for the past 3-4 years. Ugh!
No, they are "DELUTIONAL". Litton was never going to be Cato, they both had a whole different kind of skillsets. If you can't understand and recognize that then something is seriously wrong with your judge of skill and talent.
We won a lot when we moved up to the MAC not because of coaching but because the MAC at the time was rated lower than the SoCon we came from. The year before we joined the MAC they had 4 teams with a winning record, this is what the standings looked like:
1996 MAC Football Standings
----------------------------------
Ball State 8-4 (7-1)
Toledo 7-5 (6-2)
Miami OH 6-5 (6-2)
Ohio 6-6 (5-3)
CMU 5-6 (4-4)
Akron 4-7 (3-5)
Bowling Green 4-7 (3-5)
EMU 3-8 (3-5)
WMU 2-9 (2-6)
Kent State 2-9 (1-7)
Marshall was just a head of the curve in having coaches and recruiting in place. When we joined the MAC not one of the schools had a recruiting coordinator nor did they actually go watch players at their schools. They all sent offers to players by watching tape on them.
If you are old enough to remember at least the 1970s or early to mid 80s then you are most likely grounded enough to understand what could be.
You aren't going to have 10+ wins every year. And if you can't appreciate that we have the highest bowl winging % of anyone with more than 10 Bowl games (11-2) and the longest bowl win streak as of right now at 6. Then you need to go find something else to do on a Sat night during football season.
