Doesnt matter what we think....
they'll be building a bronze statue and he'll be here for life. And seeing what we could do against all odds today, I'm ok with that.

RE: Extend Bobby Wilder Thread
I have to ask..
I am as outsider as it gets but from afar it seems to me this program has been quite good (all things considered) since joining FBS. I watched casually when Heinecke was your QB as I played him in fantasy a lot. Always entertaining and competitive.
Then the 10-3 year which to me was very impressive for what is still a fledgling program at this level.
I guess I've always held Wilder in high regard, was it a common thought before today that he should be replaced?

RE: Extend Bobby Wilder Thread
the plan was to lull tech into overconfidence by losing the first 3 games as to make the win more news worthy. so far so good.

Someone called it. Was definitely the plan. BW's ultimate gambit paid off

Only weird call of the night was the weird scrub kick that went out of bounds to give it to VT on their 35. Unsure if that was the play call or just a bad kick?

My impression at the time was that it was just a bad kick. Good question, though.

Yeah, looked like squib was the call but not supposed to kick that close to sideline.

RE: Extend Bobby Wilder Thread
He is the exact same Coach today he was before last night. Last night he won (another historic win) and another game we were not expected to win. Alas, we have also lost some we were not expected to but not that many. Still the best start up in NCAA history and a better transition to FBS than most, almost all others. Other things that have not changed, no scandals, more than satisfactory GPA (actually very good) and the players (at least the ones I have known) love him. Also, as you may have seen in the video posted last night and as others have already pointed out on this MB Broderick is also a fan. Not sure how much if any the opinions of those few who post on this MB matter but I am pretty sure that last night insures he will be around for the new stadium. I for one am happy for him, and his coaches, and his family and his friends. Coach Wilder climbed to the top of the mountain (at least the ESPN one) last night and he has earned a few days of beautiful sunrises and crystal clear starry nights.

Remember Blaine beat UVA en route to 5-25. Actually I believe something like 2-22 before Corrigan took over. If this LaRussa cat is for real and we actually turn the season around, Wilder can stay, but if we are the 0-3 team the rest of the season, I still want him gone.

I could still see this team finishing 4-8. The schedule is tough and I'm not sure Blake LaRussa will be able to play like that all season. If we get QB play like we did yesterday going forward, I like our chance against whomever we play.

RE: Extend Bobby Wilder Thread
I think Bobby saved his for another season last night. Anything short of a bowl game and his coordinators and other assistant coaches need to be shaken up in a big way.
