Good to see Santa and coach Tuke having success. The truly great QBs take some risks and that enables them to make more plays than QBs that play in constant fear of the occasional turnover. I think that Santa is going to continue to improve and that he likely has more upside than Childers.

That said, it will be fun to watch both of their college careers and I will cheer them both on wishing them both nothing but the best.

Interesting 2018 stat comparison. Not sure why this site still lists Santa as a NIU Huskie.

https://herosports.com/college-football/...s-childers

Not a real fair comparison, Santa does not play an FBS schedule, especially one like NIU. Also, this comparison does not show rushing numbers, which Childers has a significant advantage. It does show the big impact of throwing the ball deep. Childers turns the ball over less, and adds another dimension with his running ability. This is the main reason why Carey went with Childers. Given the strength of our defense, and the underwhelming MAC competition, it easy to understand why a Carey would prefer a less risky, running QB over a higher risk true passer. If Childers makes improvements in his passing he can be very effective.
All things considered, it has worked out well, to this point, for the Huskies.

Another big game for Santa.

What are his stats for the season so far? He's been a great pickup for old coach Tuke.
