OT - Ed Oliver speaks

Sounds like UH got lucky thanks to Ed's brother - the magnificently named - Marcus, already being on the team there. Nevertheless, I love that he is totally unapologetic about having spent his college years there.
Let the tired line about needing to go to a "Blue Blood" program die once, and for all. Ed is evidence that that's all a bunch of BS. He was a stud going into college, validated that in college, and hopefully he'll continue along that line well after college.

It's been proven again and again you do not need to go to a supposed "blue blood" to succeed. Media has and continues to drive this narrative. One of the many reasons I do not watch the 4 letter or their CFB marketing arm with Game Day.

I've always said it would be easier to make the NFL by playing all four years and being a stud at an AAC school like UC than going to O$U, redshirting and then having to wait two more years before you even see the field.
Look at Justin Hilliard. What if he'd come to UC, started four years and been all AAC a couple of times. He'd be getting looks right now. But he just HAD to go to O$U where he's in his what, his 3rd year? And just now starting to sniff the field as a regular. He better hope he sets the field on fire this year.

I understand what your saying, but Hilliard is a poor example as injuries are what prevented him from seeing time on the field. Now, I think the kid from Moeller we lost out on last year to Penn State will end up being a perfect example of getting lost in the rotation for a couple of years before seeing action.

He's definitely talking about Hawkins. Would have been amazing having him on the DL, but best of luck to him.
