MyBB Hoops Schedules Home-and-Home with Northern Kentucky
https://nkunorse.com/news/2018/6/14/mens...-umbc.aspx

Fri Nov 9 Norse @ Huskies
Thu Dec 20 Huskies @ Norse

BB&T arena might be the best mid-major venue in the midwest. Brand new. Worth driving to.

NKU in its 2 years of eligibility made the NCAA’s in Year 1 and won the Horizon outright in Year 2. Big get for Montgomery.

Schedule
Fri 11/9 vs Northern Kentucky
Fri 11/23 Oakland/Oral Roberts/James Madison
Sat 11/24 Oakland/Oral Roberts/James Madison
Sun 11/25 Oakland/Oral Roberts/James Madison
Thu 12/20 @ Northern Kentucky
Western Illinois (Montgomery)
@ Butler (dekalb222)
@ Michigan State (dekalb222)
@ Georgia Tech (dekalb222)

Some nice arenas for roadtrips this year. Hinkle, BB&T, Breslin, & O’Rena x3.

From P5 (Izzone, GT) to historic (Hinkle) to new (BB&T) to loud and intimate (O’Rena), Huskies will be well-prepped for MAC play.

If that away game at Northern Kentucky was on a Saturday I would go.

Big get for Montgomery.

Just curious, why is a three-year-old NCAA Division I program considered "a big get"?

Because they’re the best program NIU has wooed to the Convo OOC since UMass in ‘12.

NCAA’s first year (lost to Kentucky by 9), won Horizon outright second year, nicest midwestern mid-major venue, and returns their coach and one of the nation’s top mid-major bigs in Drew McDonald. Top ~100 program.

I was going to ask the same question. Northern Kentucky has never been on my radar.....

^ No Murray State? They had 30 straight winning seasons and in this decade 2 regular season top 25 finishes (‘12, ‘15) and 2 NCAA wins (‘10, ‘12).

Northern Kentucky is more like a 3rd Cincinnati team than a 10th or however many Kentucky team. It's just across the Ohio River. The Bearcats actually played at their arena last year because Fifth Third Arena was undergoing renovations.

Won the Horizon the last couple years, average about 4-5k home attendance. Not your typical "three year old NCAA division I program".
