He's not wrong. Seems that the only music coming out these days with a good beat that people can dance to is from the EDM world. Perfect example. Listen to hip-hop from the 90's and early 2000's. Most of it was great. The stuff claiming to be hip-hop these days is just plain awful. Same goes for pop in general. It went from bubble-gum fun to boring.

The advent of mp3/file format of choice, auto-tuner, and the ability to create stuff on a computer of choice has lead to the music industry being even more about the hit single versus a solid album. While digital distribution channels and social media allow for a lot more artists to get out there and put out a lot more content on a consistent and time relevant basis its also cheapened the quality of a lot of the creations.

I do side with Moby's comments though even if I never thought his own stuff was that great.
