RE: Sean Frazier up for Kansas...
Interesting. Their last AD came from Illinois state and that didn’t work out. They want to build football so Frazier could be a good fit. If they want to focus on basketball then they won’t choose him.

I wish STF the best of luck. Hope he gets the job.

I hope Frazier doesn't leave, but I certainly understand why he wants to and wish him luck.

Long hired Petrino from an nfl team and Bielema coming off 3 Rose Bowls. Not many AD’s can say they convinced 2 HC’s to “step down” to them.

I think I’m one of the few on here that actually like Frazier and if he leaves people are going to wish we still had him.

The stadium improvements haven't moved an inch, not sure thats all on his shoulders, but none the less its his boat to bring it to harbor.

Not Frazier's fault.

Declining enrollment and a state government on a financial death watch, leading to having to play mid-week games for money, leading to declining game attendance.

Unless a big donor steps up, we'll just keep getting along but not making real progress.

While I'm not a big fan of Carey, I'll have to say he's done a pretty good job keeping NIU football afloat and being able to recruit during this difficult period.

Plus, he sure makes some interesting play calls that keep us scratching our heads!

RE: Sean Frazier up for Kansas...
It is difficult to evaluate his ability given the austerity that he has had throughout his tenure. He has leveraged his connections and made a real effort to improve our scheduling. I also think that the yard is a family friendly and fun environment. There are some positives. I wonder if we would have a new men's BB coach if there was money for a buy out?

I would not take it personal if he left and ran for the money.

Agree fully. The "end zone "call against Duke was the worst. But I'll give him credit for keeping NIU in the running under the current conditions.

The telling thing though, is that no other school has picked him up. Younger MAC coaches usually get poached by bigger schools, if they have anything on the ball.

"...Unless a big donor steps up" this is SF's job, imperfect climate not an excuse for zero results.

Agreed, Filmmaker. Seems like a lot of reverse psychology going on in this thread. Almost like if the president of KU jumped on our board, he’d be snagging STF tomorrow.

This is why SF will never make a coaching change while he is here. He wants the house to be in order so he can bid on every job that comes up. Seriously, the quicker he is gone, the quicker NIU can start to rebuild. He checked out about a year after he was here.

Reviews on STF may be mixed, but congrats to the NIU student athletes on the latest APR results:
