Looks like Ali is going to Washington St. That's now two PGs that committed at one point in this class only to decomit and wind up at a bigger school. I forget the other kids name from back in the fall.

Xavier Pinson flipping to Missouri was the other one I was thinking of.

Thats great. He was a gritty KSU player who had a nice floor game and took advantage of his minutes on the floor. No wonder he is having success as a coach.

RE: Mens Basketball Offseason
Well, it sounds like we have our final spot filled for next year... And this one has some backstory. Looks like 6'6" 200 lbs. Juco guard C.J. Williamson (aka. Courtney Williamsonbey Jr.) verbally committed to Kent. He played his freshman year at Texas Tech but didn't do much. Then he transferred to Florida Gulf Coast before being dismissed after being arrested for breaking into a car. On the court, he seems like the long wing we need. Off the court... Let's just hope we keep up our run of success with guys with trouble in their past. If we're being fair, Hall's backstory was probably more worrisome, and he was a model citizen here.

RE: Mens Basketball Offseason
As for his Juco numbers. He averaged 10 ppg 5.5 rpg and over a steal per game. His percentages we're 40.8/28.1/75.0. So he's not the three point shooter many want. I think his size on the perimeter will be a big factor for us assuming he can move laterally well enough to guard the perimeter. It looks like it will likely be on the two freshman guards and Walker and Avery if our three point shooting will improve. Williamson's size should provide some interesting options for 4 guard lineups if need be.

The two areas I'm most concerned with are 1) who steps up as the backup pg and 2) three point shooting. I do think we did a real good job of getting longer on the perimeter which was a big problem last year. Well now have Gholston (6'4"), Roberts (6'4"), Harris (6'4"), Peterson (6'5") Williamson (6'6"), and possibly Duling (6'7") as options on the perimeter which is a significant size upgrade over our options last year. Here's a video on Williamson.

Anyone hear anything about Williamson? Verbal commits reported he committed to Kent over a week ago but I still haven't seen anything from Kent and it looks like the only mention online is some guy on Twitter citing unnamed sources. Starting to wonder if this is "fake news".

Will he have to sit out a year or can he play right away? Wasn't sure with transferring previously and being dismissed?

On a side note, I just saw a few people really close to the Akron Zips MBB program in Las Vegas last weekend and the common thread was that the Athletic Department isn't happy with Groce as he has come in overly confident, cocky, etc. and has rubbed a ton of people (fans, community, etc.) the wrong way.

RE: Mens Basketball Offseason
Well, Senderoff/staff have their 13 scholarships filled. Should be interesting to see the improvement of Duling, Whittington, Harris, Pippen, & Peterson from last season to the fall.

Guards:
Jalen Avery - SR
Jaylin Walker - SR
Mitch Peterson - JR
Kain Harris - JR (is he a combo guard?)
CJ Williamson - JR (listed as a PG on verbal commits)
Antonio Williams - SO
Anthony Roberts - FR (listed as SG on verbal commits)
DeAndre Gholston - FR (listed as SG on verbal commits)

Forwards:
Akiean Frederick - SR
Danny Pippen - JR
Philip Whittington - JR
BJ Duliing - SO

Center:
Adonis De La Rosa - SR (he will be rehabbing an injury all summer & part of fall, right?)

What a road he's taken to Kent. Commited and decommitted to both MTSU and Pitt, now xferring from UNM and managed to sneak in a year of community college where he led the nation in scoring. He is a solid 3-point shooter, at over 40% while at Polk State CC.

Well you should be excited about him - Middle Tennessee, Pitt, New Mexico, and Polk State fans have all been excited about him in the past.

2 years? He was listed as a junior this season at New Mexico. He played 2 seasons at Polk State. I'd expect he'd have to sit out 2018-2019 and just have 2019-2020 to play.

Well you should be excited about him - Middle Tennessee, Pitt, New Mexico, and Polk State fans have all been excited about him in the past.

Perhaps being closer to home (Pitts.) will help remedy his on-court issues.

"You can kind of see not only his interactions — sometimes some stuff on the bench (in games), some stuff we’ve had in practice. He is homesick. He does miss his daughter. He’s going through some things for the first time. I don’t think that necessarily excuses what he’s done and I don’t want to say it as that. But I do think that’s part of the underlying issue of what’s bringing some of this out.”
