If we were in a certain conference we could lose to a UCF in 4 of the next 5 games and we might drop to #22.

Speaking of November and December games look at that second paragraph about OOC schedules in the post you quoted.

They have lost 5 of 7 and have looked absolutely dreadful the past 2+ weeks and seemingly can do no wrong to lose their Top 20 ranking.

FWIW for anyone who hated UC's dreadful OOC schedule....as of today it is rated #139 while WVU's is rated #197.

Did Mick learn how to schedule from Bob?

Who has lost 4 out of 5 to 70+ RPI teams and are still ranked?

I don't know what point you are trying to make? Right now, I think UC deserves to be ranked ahead of WVU, and has a better overall team. Why are you comparing them to UC? I'm just saying they should be ranked for their overall body of work. With wins against Virginia, Missouri, KSUx2, Texas, OkSt., etc. and one bad loss @ ISU and 17-6.

It all depends on where you start in the rankings...who you lose to and who you beat. The Iowa State loss was a dreadful loss (not because Iowa State is bad, they are about UCF level), but because they got smoked. All the other losses were to top 30 kenpom teams and they sprinkled in wins against two other good teams. I'm impressed that the pollsters didn't overreact to recency bias which tends to be a huge thing pollsters do.

I generally agree with all your points. One that hasn’t been factored in though is the B12 basically got smoked by the SEC. Are they all really that good?

Maybe Temple should be too then.

The big 12 went 4-6 (you're really stretching the definition of "smoked")... it was 1 days worth of games. You can't look at that and just discount their entire non-conference body of work. The SEC is solid this year, on that particularly day some of the SEC teams got the better of the Big 12 teams. The Big 12 is still absolutely loaded top to bottom this year.

Could be. Andy Kennedy’s Ole Mistake team is having a CBI type year with the #144 rated OOC SOS.
